The House of Representatives meeting on Monday proceeded with its agenda amid obstruction by opposition parties Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
Although the government presented the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on May 29, general discussions on it began only on Sunday.
In the meantime, all opposition parties obstructed parliamentary proceedings demanding Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak's resignation and the formation of an investigation committee on the visit visa issue.
However, on Friday, the main opposition party CPN (Maoist Center) reached a two-point agreement with the ruling coalition to allow House proceedings to resume. Since Sunday, only RSP and RPP have continued their protests in Parliament.
As Speaker Devraj Ghimire pushed forward with House proceedings amid protests on Monday, RPP boycotted the meeting for the second consecutive day.
Meanwhile, RSP continued its protest inside the well of the House.
RSP lawmakers initially protested by standing up from their seats and chanting slogans. They then went in front of the well of the House and sat there in protest. They had protested in the same manner on Sunday as well.
