Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has instructed the high level coordination committee to fight COVID-19 to do homework on modality of lockdown.
A minister told Setopati that PM Oli during the Cabinet meeting earlier on Friday asked the committee members to think about the modality of lockdown which looks set to continue. The committee will meet Saturday and the Cabinet meeting will take a final decision on the basis of the committee's recommendations.
"The current problem is how to work in agriculture and how to move in education," the minister who is also in the committee stated. "It is also time to think about how to move construction works paying attention to safety. We will have to bring the budget in May end."
The minister opined that the lockdown cannot be removed now as the disease is spreading at places like Udayapur and Bhojpur. "I cannot say exactly what the modality of lockdown will be but it can be a little different from the current one. The final decision on that will be taken by the Cabinet meeting to be held on Saturday or Sunday."
