Former Nepal Police DIG Ramesh Kharel has announced an anti-corruption campaign on Thursday.
A group led by Kharel organizing a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday has announced citizen vigilance across the country to end corruption. The campaign has been named 'Our Nepal Good Governance Campaign' with slogan 'Let's oppose corruption for good governance.'
Kharel is coordinator of the campaign also including Devendra Prasad Sitaula, Narayan Ghimire, Raj Kumar Yadav and Roshan Shrestha among others.
The campaign will include awareness programs across the country for citizens' rights, and freedom and equality.
"This campaign will move forward keeping the norms and needs of nationalism, democracy and good governance at the center," its concept paper made public on Thursday states.
Kharel had resigned as DIG in April 2018 after Sarbendra Khanal was appointed IGP ahead of him.
