Deuba asks: Should we say Jai India or Jai China if not Jai Nepal?

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has slammed Government Spokesperson Gokul Baskota for criticizing the party's slogan of Jai Nepal. Minister Baskota on Thursday had stated that NC is using the Jai Nepal slogan of the then king Mahendra Shah. "Jai Nepal means victory to Nepal," Deuba pointed addressing a press conference at the party's central office in Sanepa on Sunday. Deuba countered asking what the party should wish for if not victory to Nepal. "What should we say if not Jai Nepal? Should we say Jai India or Jai China instead?" Minister Baskota addressing the weekly press conference had asked whether the terms my government and Jai Nepal should be removed from the dictionary defending the use of 'my government', the term used by kings in the past, by President Bidya Devi Bhandari while presenting the government's policies and programs in the parliament.
