Coordinator of the chairman council of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) Sharad Singh Bhandari has stated that chances of unification with the newly formed Socialist Party Nepal are still alive.
"All the doors for unification remain open if the issues being raised by our party are accepted," Bhandari told journalists in Janakpur on Tuesday. He claimed that RJP took initiative for unification with Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) and revealed that it did not materialize as the latter did not quit the federal government.
"But unification will not be possible at any cost if Upendra Yadav does not provide a clear answer about whether he has abandoned the agenda of Constitution amendment or not," he stated.
He pointed that RJP's main agenda is Constitution amendment, and added that unification cannot happen until Yadav remains in the government which has called the Constitution acceptable for all in its policies and programs.
He also accused the government of controlling even the legislature and judiciary. The fact that the report of Girish Chandra Lal commission formed to probe the killings during the protests in tarai has not been made public even after ruling by the House of Representatives speaker, non-withdrawal of the case against Resham Chaudhary and corruption in procurement of wide-body planes by the Nepal Airlines Corporation proves so, he reasoned.
