CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has hinted that the party will try to form government in Province 2.
Welcoming leaders and cadres of Madhes-Tarai Forum, that joined the ruling CPN, organizing a program at his residence in Khumaltar on Tuesday, he claimed that the party can form government even in Province 2.
"We can form government in Province 2 even now if we so wish and maneuver as a big party," he claimed.
He accused the coalition government of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) and Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) in the province of bad governance. "The government in Province 2 is not operating in the right manner now. It is not operating for the welfare of Madhesi people," he alleged.
He added that only a CPN government will be in the interest of Madhesi people. He stated that CPN is not maneuvering in the province now hoping that the current government will do good work. "We have always said we will support the current government if it does good works. But we have seen more of corruption and dishonesty until now," he said. "I am surprised to hear that individual phone numbers is included in the red book during planning."
He said CPN may have to interfere and take the reins if the current situation in Province 2 were to continue. He assured that the federal government is preparing plans for development of Madhes to include in the upcoming budget.
He also claimed that he is trying his best to amend the Constitution in a way that it benefits the people in Madhes. "I have made efforts and struggled for Constitution amendment," he stressed.
