Locals have handed over a letter to Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Hari Prabha Khadgi warning that they will demolish the shutters built at the Open Theater by the company contracted to build a view tower at the Old Bus Park if the KMC does not remove them.
A rally of the locals from the surrounding areas and campaigners including House of Representatives (HoR) member of Nepali Congress (NC) Bhimsen Das Pradhan, and assembly members of Province 3 Jeevan Dangol of NC and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of Bibeksheel Party Nepal reached the KMC and handed over the letter to deputy mayor Khadgi.

The locals have given a deadline of one month to the KMC to remove the shutters.
Jaleshwore Swachhanda Bikoi Builders, contracted to build the view tower at the Old Bus Park, has built the shutters in the public land at the Open Theater and rented them.

The KMC claims that the company was only handed over the responsibility of managing the bus park shifted to the Open Theater. The company was given permission to build just a canteen, waiting space for passengers and a toilet, according to the KMC.
But the company has built over 55 shutters there and rented them.
