The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has called secretariat meeting Sunday evening to conclude the unification process.
According to the party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the secretariat meeting is scheduled for 6 pm. The two chairmen will hold a discussion before that at 5 pm.
He said instructions were given to two leaders, whom he did not name, for preparation of the meeting to be held at Rastriya Sabha Griha.
Earlier, Prime Minister and CPN Chairman KP Sharma Oli, fellow Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and general secretary Bishnu Paudel held an informal discussion on unification in Baluwatar Sunday morning.
Dahal further said that leadership of district and sister organizations will be announced on Monday. He also admitted that leadership will not be handed on the basis of favoritism.
"Leadership will not be handed over on the basis of favoritism. We will decide on the basis of principles," Dahal said, "Unification has concluded now. The party leadership has organized a program. The decision taken by secretariat meeting will be announced tomorrow. There's also a program in which we two chairmen will address."
He said the party's statute will be revised as per the report submitted by the task force formed in the past.
"We are also preparing to print the party statute after reviewing it," Dahal said, "Final shape is being given to the party statute."
Dahal said that the party unification which was earlier to be completed within three months has yet to be concluded even after 11 months.
"We've reached to a point where we will ultimately complete the remaining tasks of unification," he said.
