Sanjay Sah from Saptari, who was rescued from the tunnel of the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project after nine days, has said that there are three to four other people near the place where he was trapped.
While speaking with the Nepal Army, he mentioned that there might be others in the power house as well.
"I used to work as an operator in the control room. Normally there would only be five or six people, but this time there were 40 or 45 people. Being in the control room, my responsibility was to save everyone's life," he said during his conversation with the Nepal Army. "After such an incident happened, I couldn't just run away alone; I had to save everyone. I told everyone that an accident had occurred at the dam. I made everyone flee outside. In doing so, my time ran out, and I wasn't able to get out."
He said that he heard some people talking inside the tunnel. "There could be people inside the power house too; maybe they couldn't escape," he said.
He also mentioned that he spent his time chanting mahamantra while trapped inside the tunnel.
Nine days after being trapped in the tunnel, the army rescued Sah along with Kabir Maharjan from Lalitpur on Friday morning.
Sah is a mechanical foreman and Kabir is a supervisor, both working for the Nepal Electricity Authority.
