The District Administration Office, Siraha, has also issued an indefinite curfew order.
Chief District Officer Surendra Paudel issued the curfew order effective from 2 p.m. on Thursday until further notice.
"Based on the analysis of the recent security situation, since there is a possibility of peace being disturbed due to protests or riots, a curfew order has been issued based on the decision of the District Security Committee," the order states.
The specified area for the curfew covers Kasaha Khola in Golbazar Municipality-3 in the east to Choharwa Chowk in the west along the East-West Highway, Sainik Chowk in the north, and the surrounding area of RP Multiple Campus in the south.
A warning has also been issued that legal action will be taken against any activities violating the curfew.
On Sunday evening, one person died from a gunshot wound during a clash between two groups in Kaptangunj, Dewangunj, Sunsari.
The inquiry committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to probe the death has already begun its investigation. However, the incident in Sunsari has also sparked tension in other districts.
Due to this tension, the District Administration Office has imposed a curfew in Siraha as well.
