An investigation has been launched after an iPad was found with Sulav Agrawal while he was in custody.
A probe committee was formed following a complaint that Agrawal, who was arrested on money laundering charges, was using an iPad inside the detention center while being held at the District Police Range, Lalitpur.
The investigation is being led by Deputy Inspector General Om Adhikari of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Rani Pokhari.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI) had arrested Agrawal and is currently investigating him.
"Agrawal was not brought in by the police. Since the department does not have its own detention facility, the police facility was utilized. After receiving information that an iPad was found, a committee was formed to investigate the role of the police," a source said.
The investigation has been underway for some time now.
Meanwhile, Agrawal has already been handed over to the DMLI from the District Police Range custody.
According to the source, Agrawal has been admitted to hospital due to poor health condition.
