An avalanche in the Yalung Ri area of Dolakha has left three people dead.

A group that had gone to climb the Dolma Khang peak was caught in the avalanche on Monday. Assistant Chief District Officer of Dolakha, Aulakh Bahadur Ale, said that an avalanche occurred in the area around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, with reports of at least five people missing.

"An avalanche has struck the Yalung Ri area, and so far, the deaths of three individuals have been confirmed. At least five people are missing. It is understood that the group includes some foreigners. We are collecting further details," he said.
