Four members of a family have been murdered in Dhodlekhani, Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality–2, Bhojpur.
According to Inspector Deepak Shrestha of the District Police Office, Bhojpur, the son-in-law killed his father-in-law, mother-in-law, and two others.
According to police, the victims have been identified as 68-year-old Bel Bahadur Giri, his 45-year-old wife Manju Giri, their 16-year-old daughter Manisha Giri, and their 9-year-old son Sapan Giri.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the son-in-law, Rajendra Rai, murdered his father-in-law (Bel Bahadur), mother-in-law (Manju), wife (Manisha), and brother-in-law (Sapan), police said.
After committing the murders, Rai himself called the police to report the crime.
"He apparently called our control room and said, ‘I have killed people, come and arrest me,’" Inspector Shrestha said.
Rai was found in an injured condition at the crime scene and has been taken to a hospital for medical treatment. He has also sustained injuries on his body.
According to Inspector Shrestha, police were informed about the incident around 1 a.m. on Sunday and immediately mobilized a team to the scene,.
Inspector Shrestha said that police were conducting further investigations at the crime scene.
