The Herbs Production and Processing Company Limited in Jadibuti of Kathmandu has resumed Sancho production.
Usha Rijal, the acting general manager of the company, said that the herbs production center, which was vandalized and set on fire by royalists participating in a violent protest in the Tinkune area of Kathmandu on March 28, started production within a month of the incident.
Since the company handles cultivation, processing, production, and marketing, its external branches manage cultivation and processing, while the central office oversees marketing and related tasks. As a result, almost all operations were halted for about a month following the incident.
Amid doubts about when the company would resume operations, production began within a month of the incident, Rijal said.
The Ministry of Forest and Environment provided facilitation, and the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office assisted in installing glass in the administrative building. According to Rijal, a room in the production building that had suffered less damage was cleaned and production was temporarily resumed from there.
Although production was previously done using machines, the machines were completely destroyed in the fire, so all work is currently being done manually by employees. As a result, the company is not operating at full capacity.
Rijal said that production is currently at 50 to 60 percent capacity.
