The ongoing pro-monarchy demonstration disrupted traffic in the New Baneshwar-Maitighar area on Friday.
Royalists continued their demonstration for the second consecutive day on Friday, affecting vehicular movement in the New Baneshwar-Maitighar area, which in turn led to increased traffic congestion along the Bagmati Corridor.
The “Joint People's Movement Committee” led by Nawaraj Subedi launched a “People's Movement” with a demonstration at Ratna Park on Thursday.
As part of the movement, the committee held a demonstration in the Maitighar-Baber Mahal area on Friday.
The movement is supported by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), RPP Nepal, Rastriya Shakti Nepal, and other pro-monarchy parties and groups.
Committee coordinator Subedi, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden, RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa, and others took part in Friday’s demonstration.
Royalists have been holding demonstrations with agendas including the restoration of monarchy, reinstatement of Nepal as a Hindu nation, and abolition of federalism.
