Three people died and two others were injured in a jeep accident in Palpa district on Sunday night.
The accident took place when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 2377), heading to Thula Pokhari from Asare in Siddheshwar, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-1, Palpa, lost control and fell nearly 200 meters from the road at Asare around 10:10 PM on Sunday, leaving three people dead and two others injured.
The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Janak Regmi, 36-year-old Dipendra Budha, and 31-year-old Chet Narayan BK of Asare, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Malla, information officer at the District Police Office, Palpa.
The injured include the jeep driver, 27-year-old Ranjan Regmi of Saune, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-1, and 23-year-old Saroj Budha of Asare.
DSP Malla said that they are undergoing treatment at Mission Hospital. Driver Regmi is in critical condition, while Budha's condition is stable.
Police said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
