The printing of one million sample ballot papers for the upcoming House of Representatives election has been completed.
The sample ballots were printed at Janak Education Materials Center Limited and will be used for voter education programs.
According to the Election Commission, the printing of ballot papers for the proportional representation (PR) system is set to begin this Friday. These ballots will feature black ink on white paper.
As a standard contingency measure, the commission prints 10 percent more ballot papers than the total number of registered voters.
For the upcoming election, the commission estimates that approximately 20 million ballot papers will be printed for both the first-past-the-post (direct) and proportional representation systems.
The House of Representatives election is scheduled for March 5.
