The four new ministers appointed on Friday have assumed office.
Shraddha Shrestha has assumed charge at the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens; Kumar Ingnam at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; Rajendra Singh Bhandari at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security; and Madhav Chaulagain at the Ministry of Forests and Environment.
The newly-appointed ministers assumed office shortly after taking the oath at Sheetal Niwas, the Office of the President, around 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Following Friday’s expansion, the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki now has 14 members.
Ingnam is a professor at Kathmandu School of Law. An expert in international trade and arbitration and financial crime law, Ingnam has authored several books. Before joining Kathmandu School of Law, he taught at Mahendra Ratna Multiple Campus in Ilam.
Bhandari is a former additional inspector general of Nepal Police. He was the founding chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
Chaulagain is a public health expert and has conducted extensive research on the Karnali region. He has published a book on Karnali titled Sapadalaksha Karnali, and his song Mantha Hun Ma Mantha gained significant popularity recently.
Shrestha is a senior manager at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). She was the project chief of the Sustainable Tourism program at NTB.
