Energy Minister Kulman Ghising visited Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, on Monday afternoon.
Immediately after taking the oath at Sheetal Niwas, Minister Ghising went to Teaching Hospital to meet the families of those who lost their lives during the protests.
The bodies of 46 people who died during the protests on September 8 and 9 were brought to Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
As of Monday, the postmortem of 26 bodies has been completed. Out of these, 23 bodies have been received by their families by Monday.
Eight bodies are in an unidentifiable condition. Teaching Hospital has said that the identification of these eight bodies will require DNA testing.
While postmortems are ongoing, the relatives of the deceased are present at the hospital.
Minister Ghising visited the hospital and interacted with the relatives of the deceased before assuming office.
