Former president Bidya Devi Bhandari has arrived at the CPN-UML central office in Chyasal to hold discussions with party chairman KP Sharma Oli, who is also the prime minister.
Former president Bhandari reached Chyasal at 3:24 p.m. on Sunday.
Relinquishing all perks and facilities except for security, former president Bhandari is preparing to become active in UML politics.
However, the UML is preparing to make an institutional decision on whether or not the former president should be brought into party politics.
While Chairman Oli has stated that the former president should not be brought into party politics, some leaders and cadres have been advocating for her return to active politics.
The UML has said that former president Bhandari's party membership has not been renewed yet.
This is Bhandari's first visit to the party office after it was relocated to Chyasal. She served two terms as the country’s president.
