Farmers dump tomatoes at Maitighar over low prices (Pictures)

Kathmandu, July 15

Farmers staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Wednesday, dumping tomatoes on the road to protest against low market prices.

The protesting farmers said that they were unable to receive fair market prices for their tomato harvest.

The farmers demonstrated with placards bearing slogans such as: "Implement agricultural insurance," "Establish a minimum support price for tomatoes and other vegetables," and "Ensure proper market management for farmers."
