Gen Z youth protest against alleged police crackdown on activists at Kirtipur holding center (Pictures)

Kathmandu, July 12

Gen Z activists staged a protest at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Sunday, alleging police crackdown on activists who had visited the Kirtipur Holding Center sheltering landless and squatter families.

The protesters claimed that police illegally detained and beat several activists, including Majid Ansari and Sarisma Thapa, after they visited the holding center.

Ansari is currently receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

The demonstrators also called on the government to ensure proper management and rehabilitation of landless and squatter families.

During the demonstration, protesters also presented flowers to police personnel.
