Teachers of English, mathematics, and science subjects affiliated with the Federal Teaching and Learning Grant Teachers Central Committee held a sit-in and protest in Kathmandu on Tuesday, demanding job continuity, permanent status, and equal benefits.
The teachers called on the government to address several demands, including salary increments, dearness allowances, leave benefits, evaluation of their teaching experience, and guarantee of continued employment even in cases of staff restructuring or school mergers.
They also demanded full implementation of agreements reached with the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Education in the past.
The protesting teachers warned that they would intensify their movement if their demands are not addressed.
