Tension erupts in Banepa after tipper-hit kills scooter rider (Pictures)

The situation has turned tense in Banepa of Kavre after one person died after being hit by a tipper truck along the Araniko Highway.

On Wednesday morning, a tipper truck with registration number Bagmati Province 01004 Ka 3423 collided with a scooter (Bagmati Province 02-063 Pa 9189) at Chandani Chowk in Banepa, killing the scooter rider.

One person was injured in the accident.

Following the incident, angry locals set the tipper truck on fire.

A large number of police personnel have been deployed at the scene. Police also fired tear gas to bring the situation under control.
