Four people, including three members of the same family, were killed when a passenger bus collided with an auto rickshaw in Dhanusha.
Two children were seriously injured in the accident.
The bus, with registration number SuPra 01–001 Kha 3288, was heading to Dhangadhi from Biratnagar when it collided with an auto rickshaw (Province 2–01–001 Ha 1230) coming from the opposite direction on Saturday evening at Birendra Bazaar, Ganeshman Charnath Municipality–1.
According to Police Inspector Laxman KC of the Area Police Office, Dhalkebar, 40-year-old Dhan Bahadur Purbachhane Magar, 35-year-old Shambhu Purbachhane Magar, 35-year-old Nisha Magar, and auto rickshaw driver Dambar Rai (about 40) – all from Bharatpur in the same municipality – died on the spot in the accident.
Inspector KC said that 14-year-old Sheetal Magar and 9-year-old Roshan Magar were seriously injured in the crash.
They have been admitted to Neuro Hospital in Janakpurdham for treatment.
Police said that further investigation into the accident is ongoing.
