Kantipur newsroom gutted by arson (Pictures)

Anarchic and violent activities carried out during Tuesday’s protests targeted the country's major political institutions, as well as government, public, and private properties.

In this series of events, the Kantipur Media Group also became a target of the protestors.

The protestors entered the Kantipur Media Group's office at Thapathali and set it on fire. The fire completely destroyed Kantipur's newsroom, with computers reduced to ashes.

Despite the outage, Kantipur journalists have been providing round the clock news updates through social media platforms.

Due to technical issues with the servers of its online edition, ekantipur, caused by the arson, Kantipur has announced a suspension of its broadcasts.

On Wednesday afternoon, one person was injured after glass shattered in an area damaged by the fire fell on him.
