Two temples based in Sankhu – which were devastated in the Gorkha earthquake 2015 – have been reconstructed in classical style.
The Lichchhavi-era Krishna Temple and Narayan Temple have regained their original forms after reconstruction.
Locals have expressed happiness over the reconstruction of the temples and well management of their premises. There are several heritages in Sankhu which in itself is an important hub from historical, archaeological, cultural and religious point of view.
Locals have also demanded speedy reconstruction of the remaining heritages in Sankhu. The Department of Archeology had accomplished the reconstruction of the temples.
Immediately following the reconstruction, there was massive public complaint of roof leakage in the temples due to use of sub-standard construction materials. Later, the Department got the Gupti Ganesh Construction Company repeat the reconstruction and renovation works in the temples.
