Opposition parties are holding a meeting at the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.
The filing of nominations for the positions of parliamentary committee chairs is scheduled for Thursday, with the window for registration set between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Ahead of the filing, opposition parties have gathered at the office of the main opposition, the Nepali Congress, for discussions.
Participants include lawmakers from the NC, CPN-UML, and the Nepali Communist Party (NCP).
General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire, lawmakers Arjun Narsingh KC and Bhishma Raj Angdembe, and others are representing the NC in the meeting.
From the UML, Secretary and lawmaker Padma Aryal is present, while lawmaker Barshaman Pun and Chief Whip Yuvaraj Dulal are representing the NCP.
Chief ministers of Gandaki and Madhesh provinces are also participating in the discussions.
The NC is preparing to field a candidate for the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee.
