Amar Kant Chaudhary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has defeated Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav in Saptari Constituency No. 3.
Chaudhary secured 32,875 votes to win the election by a margin of more than 17,500 votes. Yadav received only 15,239 votes.
Meanwhile, Tara Kant Chaudhary of the CPN-UML obtained 6,715 votes.
Previously, after being defeated in Saptari-2 during the 2022 elections, Yadav had returned to Parliament by winning the Bara-2 by-election.
Having won from Morang and Sunsari in 2008 and Saptari-2 in 2017, he has been a member of Parliament continuously since 2008. However, the defeat to Chaudhary has put a brake on his parliamentary career this time.
