Nepali Congress members demanding a special general convention held a gathering on Wednesday.
The gathering was held in the afternoon at the Rastriya Sabha Griha on Exhibition Road, Kathmandu.
Those attending the event include central members Madhu Acharya, Pratima Gautam, Taraman Gurung, and Ajay Babu Shiwakoti. Lumbini Congress President Ammar Singh Pun and Gandaki Congress President Shukra Raj Sharma were also present.
On October 15, 54 percent of the party’s general convention delegates had submitted signatures demanding a special general convention.
Those in favor of a special general convention organized Wednesday’s gathering under the chairmanship of veteran leader Omkar Shrestha, who had participated in the Nepali Congress’ first-ever special general convention held in 1957.
