Twelve different communist parties staged a protest in Kathmandu on Friday against what they called “the aggression and genocide in Palestine, and the assault on Iran” by Israel.
The parties that took part in the protest included the CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Rastriya Janamorcha.
Leaders and cadres of various communist parties, including Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Gurung, Lilamani Pokharel, Unified Socialist Senior Vice-chairman Rajendra Pandey, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC, and Baigyanik Samajwadi Communist Party General Secretary Ahuti participated in the protest.
Chanting slogans such as "Stop imperialist wars," and "Maintain world peace," the protesters marched from Shanti Batika (Ratna Park) to Jamal, Ghanta Ghar, Bag Bazar, and Putali Sadak before holding a rally on Exhibition Road.
On July 3, a meeting of communist parties, including the Maoist Center, had decided to organize a demonstration in Kathmandu against Israel's attacks on Palestine and Iran.
