Opposition parties have obstructed parliamentary proceedings demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
Lawmakers from the main opposition CPN (Maoist Center), the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) called for Home Minister Lekhak’s resignation during Tuesday's House of Representatives meeting.
Maoist Center lawmaker Barshaman Pun said that since the visit visa scandal has surfaced, Home Minister Lekhak must pave the way for investigation.
He warned that regular parliamentary proceedings will not move forward until the home minister steps down.

Opposition lawmakers stood up in protest when Speaker Devraj Ghimire gave time to Nepali Congress lawmaker Shyam Ghimire to speak.
RSP lawmakers chanted slogans calling for Home Minister Lekhak’s resignation and the formation of an inquiry commission. Maoist lawmakers also stood up, but they did not chant slogans.
