Stranded buses and trucks begin leaving Kathmandu after five days (Pictures)

Kathmandu, Sept 29

Trucks and large buses that had been stranded in Kathmandu for the past five days due to road blockages caused by landslides on various highways have started heading toward their destinations from Tuesday.

Many trucks and buses entering or leaving Kathmandu had been halted after landslides disrupted transportation services along the highways.

Following the reopening of the roads, the stranded vehicles are gradually being sent toward their destinations.

As a large number of vehicles that had been stuck for an extended period began leaving at the same time, traffic congestion increased in several areas of Kathmandu, including Kalanki.

Some areas have also experienced traffic jams due to the high volume of vehicles.

As there is still a risk of rainfall-triggered landslides and further road blockages along the highways, travelers are advised to exercise caution.
