Bagmati water level rises at Teku’s Banshighat (Pictures)

Kathmandu, Sept 25

The water level in the Bagmati River has risen at Banshighat in Teku, Kathmandu.

The river’s flow has increased due to continuous rainfall since Thursday.

The government has urged people to remain highly alert, warning that heavy rainfall is forecast through September 27.

People have been advised to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary, stay away from areas at risk of flooding, and make necessary preparations.

The government said that it is carrying out preparations in view of potential risks. The ministry has also urged people not to panic but to remain highly alert to potential risks.
