People involved in construction, factories, industries, and technology-related work are celebrating Bishwakarma Day by worshiping Lord Bishwakarma.
In Kathmandu, a large number of people have been gathering at the premises of the Bhadrakali Temple since early morning to worship their vehicles.
In particular, drivers and vehicle owners have brought their motorcycles, cars, taxis, buses, and other vehicles to the Bhadrakali premises to perform puja and receive tika and prasad.
Bishwakarma is revered by Hindus as the divine architect.
The festival is also associated with the tradition of worshiping various tools, machines, equipment, and construction materials. At industrial and factory premises, machinery and equipment are worshiped, followed by the distribution of prasad among workers and employees.
There is a religious belief that worshiping vehicles and tools on Bishwakarma Puja brings success at work, protection from accidents, and progress in business.
As a result, transport entrepreneurs, drivers, mechanics, technicians, and people involved in various professions and businesses particularly observe the festival.
Temples, garages, workshops, industries, and vehicle parking areas across the Kathmandu Valley have also installed idols or images of Bishwakarma and performed puja. The influx of devotees has led to increased vehicle movement in and around the Bhadrakali area since early morning.
