Bodies of three more climbers killed in Broad Peak avalanche brought home (Pictures)

The bodies of three more Nepali climbers who died in an avalanche while attempting to climb Pakistan’s Broad Peak have been brought back to Nepal.

The bodies of Kili Pemba Sherpa “Kilu,” Gyalu Sherpa, and Nima Sherpa were brought home via Qatar Airways on Tuesday afternoon.

Their bodies will be kept at the office of the Nepal Mountaineering Association in Naxal, Kathmandu, for final tributes.

The three climbers, along with record-setting mountaineer Nirmal Purja, Pur Bahadur Gurung “Yukta,” and Nawang Thindu Sherpa, were among six Nepali climbers and four others who died in the avalanche on July 30.

Gurung’s body was brought back to Nepal on August 6 and cremated at Swayambhu.

As Nirmal Purja’s family is based in the United Kingdom, his funeral will be held in London.

Meanwhile, Nawang’s body has not yet been recovered due to the difficult terrain.
