Ganesh Nepali’s body taken to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation (Pictures)

Kathmandu, July 13

The body of Ganesh Nepali, a resident of Soru Rural Municipality-1, Mugu, who died after attempting self-immolation outside the Department of Passports in Tripureshwar, has been taken to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation.

His body was carried in a funeral procession to the cremation site.

The procession was accompanied by traditional music in accordance with the funeral customs of the Sudur Paschim region.

On July 9, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police officers had placed a wheel lock on Nepali's motorcycle outside the Department of Passports. He subsequently attempted self-immolation on the road and died on Friday while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.

Following his death, the government and his family reached a nine-point agreement on Sunday.
