Buddha Jayanti celebrated in Kirtipur (Pictures)

Buddha Jayanti was celebrated on Friday at the Chilanchwa Stupa premises in Kirtipur.

The Jagatpal Mahavihar Chilanchwa Bhagawan Guthi organized various events to mark the 2569th Buddha Jayanti.

As in previous years, the Guthi organized events including Namasangeeti recitation, Buddhist prayers and meditation, and Gyanmala hymns. A collective puja (worship ceremony) was also performed on the occasion.

According to the Guthi, two idols of Buddha were placed on display and later carried around the town in a ceremonial procession accompanied by traditional music.
