The Tinkune Police Circle in Kathmandu bid farewell to 199 election police on Thursday.
Police said that the personnel, who were deployed to ensure election security, were bid farewell during an official ceremony where they received letters of appreciation.
According to police, these temporary recruits played a vital role in ensuring a peaceful and organized voting process by securing polling stations and sensitive areas throughout the election period. Following the successful completion of their responsibilities, they were sent home with honors.
Around 100,000 temporary election police had been recruited and deployed across various districts to provide security during the election. The 199 individuals discharged from the Tinkune Police Circle were part of that nationwide deployment.
