Private school operators hold protest at New Baneshwar (Pictures)

Private school operators held a demonstration in New Baneshwar of Kathmandu on Friday as part of their protests against the School Education Bill.

On Friday, the agitating private school operators gathered at Maitighar before holding a protest march to New Baneshwar.

After reaching New Baneshwar, they staged a demonstration chanting slogans.

They had planned to march up to the road in front of the Parliament building and stage a sit-in there.

However, since it is a prohibited zone, security personnel did not allow the protesters to move forward.

A minor scuffle broke out after the police stopped the protestors.

Earlier on Friday, private school operators parked their school vehicles along the edges of Kathmandu's Ring Road at various intersections.

Private school operators, led by PABSON and National PABSAN, have been protesting since Thursday, expressing opposition to some provisions in the School Education Bill.
