A large number of devotees visited the Pashupatinath Temple since early morning on the last Monday of Shrawan, the fourth month of the Nepali calendar.
During this month, devotees wear red, green, and yellow clothing, along with bangles and necklaces every Monday and worship Lord Shiva.
There is a religious belief that observing a fast on Monday and worshiping Lord Shiva fulfills one’s wishes.
Another attraction in the month of Shrawan is the Bolbam pilgrimage.
On the last Monday of the month, Bolbam pilgrims from Kathmandu reach Sundarijal early in the morning.
After taking a dip in Sundarijal and offering prayers to Lord Shiva, they carry holy water from there to offer at the Pashupatinath Temple.
The Bolbam pilgrimage for this year concludes after offering the water from Sundarijal and performing special worship at Pashupatinath.
