Diktel Mayor Bhattarai launches satyagraha at Maitighar

Tirtharaj Bhattarai, the mayor of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality in Khotang, has launched a satyagraha in the capital.

Bhattarai began his satyagraha at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Sunday with a seven-point demand.

He said that federal laws are hindering the use of local raw materials and that the federal government has ignored repeated written and verbal requests.

Police detained Bhattarai in front of the Singha Durbar’s south gate, a restricted area, and subsequently released him at Maitighar.

Bhattarai then began the satyagraha at Maitighar Mandala.
