On the occasion of the 2569th Buddha Jayanti, devotees have been gathering since early morning on Monday at the Guru Lhakhang Monastery at Bauddha to see the precious relics of Lord Gautam Buddha.
Rare relics of Kashyap Buddha and the Swayambhu Mahachaitya have also been put on display for public viewing at Bauddha.
The Shree Bauddhanath and Melamchi Ghyang Guthi have arranged for devotees to view the precious relics of Lord Buddha, along with the rare relics of Kashyap Buddha and the Swayambhu Mahachaitya.
Preparations have also been made for a procession featuring an ancient idol of Lord Buddha.
Buddha Jayanti is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the month of Baisakh (Baisakh Shukla Purnima). The festival is observed in a grand manner in places associated with Lord Buddha, such as Lumbini (his birthplace), Kapilvastu, Bauddha, and Swayambhu.
