Leaders from the non-establishment faction of the Nepali Congress have arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Deuba is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport via a Thai Airways flight at 12:30 p.m.
Prior to his arrival, leaders including Krishna Sitaula, Bimalendra Nidhi, and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki from the non-establishment faction have reached the airport.
The non-establishment faction had even called upon party workers to travel to the airport to welcome Deuba.
Three specific locations have been designated for supporters arriving for the reception to gather. They have been asked to gather in the open space in front of the Golden Gate at the airport entrance, the open space in front of the Namaste Gate, and the open space in front of Tilganga Eye Hospital.
Deuba had left for Singapore for medical treatment on February 25. He was injured in a brutal attack during the Gen Z movement on September 9 last year.
He then traveled to Hong Kong from Singapore along with his wife, Arzu Rana Deuba, for further medical treatment.
Earlier, he had sent letters to bodies including the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), informing them that he would return to the country within the month of Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August).
The Deuba faction is organizing a national gathering under the coordination of former general secretary Shashank Koirala. The event will take place from August 14 to 16.
The non-establishment faction claims that Deuba will participate in the gathering.
