The non-establishment factions of the Nepali Congress held a provincial-level gathering in Koshi province on Sunday.
The gathering, organized jointly by the factions aligned with former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader Shekhar Koirala, took place at the Manaslu Hotel in Biratnagar.
Participants included leader Koirala, former general secretaries Shashank Koirala and Krishna Prasad Sitaula, and leaders Minendra Rijal, Bal Bahadur KC, NP Saud, and Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, among others.
Previously, when the Deuba faction held a Koshi-level gathering, the Koirala faction did not participate.
However, the Deuba and Koirala factions have now come together to hold a joint gathering. The meeting has been described as an effort to promote broader unity within the party.
Both the Deuba and Koirala factions had not participated in the special general convention held in January.
