President Ram Chandra Paudel has summoned a joint session of both houses of the Federal Parliament for May 11.
In this context, the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, organized an orientation for its lawmakers on Wednesday.
Members of Parliament of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly participated in the event held at the Nepali Congress parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.
During the orientation, party President Gagan Thapa briefed the lawmakers on the parliamentary roles they need to play in the upcoming Parliament session. He also provided training on how to make the party’s presence in Parliament more effective.
The meeting also discussed what the party's official stance should be regarding the ordinances introduced by the government and the recent demolition of squatter settlements.
