More than 1,600 personnel have been deployed from the Armed Police Force (APF) Headquarters to various districts for election security.
According to Shailendra Thapa, joint spokesperson for the APF, troops were dispatched on Friday from the APF Headquarters in Halchowk, Kathmandu, to different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, APF Additional Inspector General Ganesh Bahadur Thada Magar has instructed personnel to mobilize in election constituencies while remaining mindful of security sensitivities.
Through a virtual address, he directed all APF units to treat election security as a mission and carry out their duties accordingly.
