The 76th Democracy Day was celebrated in Kathmandu on Thursday with a special ceremony held at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel.
The ceremony was attended by President Ram Chandra Paudel, Vice-president Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, and other high-ranking government officials.
The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force demonstrated various skills and maneuvers, while a variety of cultural tableaux were also showcased.
The 76th National Democracy Day is being celebrated across the country on Thursday with diverse events. The government has declared a public holiday on the occasion of Democracy Day.
In Nepal’s history, Falgun 7, 2007 BS (February 19, 1951) is regarded as a glorious and unforgettable day, marking the end of the century-long autocratic Rana regime and the advent of democracy.
