Former additional inspector general (AIG) of Nepal Police, Bishwa Raj Pokharel, joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) on Friday.
Pokharel joined the party at an event held at the party office in Banasthali on Friday.
The RSP is planning to assign him a responsibility in the disciplinary commission.
Pokharel was promoted to AIG on December 10, 2020, and resigned from the post on July 18, 2022.
At that time, AIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh, who was third in the seniority ranking, was appointed inspector general of police (IGP). Pokharel was not happy with the decision. After the government appointed Singh as IGP, Pokharel even moved the Supreme Court challenging the decision.
