The agitating Nepal Teachers' Federation (NTF) staged a sit-in at the central office of the Nepali Congress in Sanepa on Wednesday.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the School Education Bill, the NTF has been holding protests since August 25. Their protest programs include submitting memorandums to the chief whips of political parties and staging sit-ins at party offices.
As part of the protest program, the NTF held a sit-in at the entrance of the Nepali Congress central office in Sanepa on Wednesday.
The teachers also plan to stage sit-ins at the central office of the CPN-UML in Chyasal on August 28, and at the central office of the CPN (Maoist Center) in Paris Danda on August 29.
The School Education Bill has already been passed by the parliamentary committee and presented in the House of Representatives with a report.
Once passed by the House of Representatives, the bill will go to the National Assembly, and after being passed there, it will be sent to the president for authentication. After it is signed by the president, the bill will become law.
